Dating is an urban slang which refers hanging out with someone in whom one is romantically interested. When you like someone and you’re trying to get to know them better, you just have a date with that person. For a young person, the first date is one of the most exciting, frightening and also confusing.

To make your first /future dates safe and enjoyable, keep these points in mind:

• Ask yourself if this is someone you trust and feel comfortable with.
• Don’t pressure yourself to act differently just to impress someone.
• Choose a place you know and feel safe in, avoid unfamiliar or isolated locations.
• Always tell someone you trust where you are going, who you are meeting, and when you will return.
• Do not accept open drinks. Keep an eye on your drink at all times.
• Avoid alcohol or any drink that smells or tastes strong.
